‘Cause Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

Big Boy & Momkat loving domestic lifeBig Boy & Momkat are still looking for a permanent home. They are currently living in my husband’s office and the hallway with occasional supervised excursions to the front of the house and a couple of hours in a cage outside (to watch the birds at the feeder). Our other rescues are not accepting them. Big Boy can’t stop himself from chasing the “girls” when they run and hide or challenge him. It’s his nature.

Big Boy looking for a new homeBig Boy is around 4-4.5 years old, weighs between 18-19 pounds (he’s on a diet) and loves adults, particularly women. He hates dogs and is scared of children. He will settle down around dogs if he can get up higher and they stop trying to reach him or bark at him. He likes sleeping with people and looking out the window. He’s got a terrific purr and sticks his tongue out when he talks (and yes, he’s a talker when he wants something — mostly food or petting.).

Momkat has learned to trust peopleMomkat (a.k.a., Carpet because she’s often under foot looking for petting now) is only a little over 8 pounds and is kooky. She’s a sweetie but ambushes toes. Sometimes she hops up on the sofa back and begins chewing hair, but she stops as soon as you say something and then rolls over to be petted. She’s the most feminine cat we’ve had in ages and coos like a pigeon instead of meowing most of the time. They both love to play with toys and together can keep each other content (except for being bored with Paul’s office).

If you’ve been thinking you wanted a cat to keep you company, consider two. They keep each other company, they make it easier to travel because they don’t get bored as quickly and these two adore each other. We would really hate to break them up. (Kissee video coming shortly. I’ll try to get a photo of them sleeping together with Big Boy hugging Momkat like a doll.) We will consider separating if we must, but Big Boy cries for hours if he’s separated from Momkat, especially in a new situation. She’s his security blanket.

If you are interested in adopting one or both of them, you can leave a message at: 360-457-0133. We have an adoption application form for completion.
