Chris Potter likes to keep busy and active. To the delight of his fans, Potter frequently makes personal appearances in accessible venues, often for charities. He is an active member of the Celebrity All-Star Hockey Team and has played in celebrity golf tournaments for charities such as the Canadian Cancer Society. He is a prominent guest at conventions of fantasy television and movie fans where a large number of Potter's fans are guaranteed to attend. He's also a popular guest on talks shows, such as the Canadian perenial the "Dini Petty" show on which he's made several appearances with and without his family. The Celebrity All-Star Hockey Team is an amateur hockey group composed of members from the entertainment industry who gather for assorted exhibition games. Their mission statement reads: "To raise money for charity. To promote the sport of hockey. And to have fun." Now officially recognized by the National Hockey League (NHL), the team began, according to co-founder Jerry Houser, in the early 80's in Los Angeles, California, USA. Jerry Houser, John Perry, Alan Thicke, Jack White and a few other entertainment industry members decided to gather other hockey enthusiasts and form a team for charity games. The roster has included Scott Bakula, Dave Coulier, Michael J. Fox, Michael Keaton, Mathew Perry, Jason Priestly, many other Hollywood's notables through the years. |
