Chris Potter first came in contact with the team in 1992 while auditioning in Los Angeles. As he explained to a group of fans, "When I was in Los Angeles, I was playing with a bunch of guys down there. It was a way for me to meet other Canadians in L.A. and give me something to identify with in this great big jungle that they call Los Angeles. Through that, because I was a decent enough player, a guy approched me named Andy Abramson, who runs the team. And he said, "Oh man! What show do you do in Canada?" At this time Potter had appeared for three seasons in the Canadian sitcom "Material World"; unfortunately this wasn't a recognized show in the US. According to Potter, Abramson's response was "Shoot! I never heard of it. If you were just better known... if you were well-know, I could get you on the celebrity team, because we could really use you!" Fortunately, "Kung Fu:The Legend Continues" decided they could really use Potter, too. "Kung Fu came out and the pilot was launched," Potter continued. "And Andy Abramson called me up an said, 'I want to congratulate you. I just saw the pilot. You're on the team!' So now I travel with these guys. It's a deam come true for me. It's a lot of fun. When we're all in the dressing room together none of us are actors, or famous guys. We're just a regular bunch of guys having a lot of fun, sharing a common interest."
